We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: Brooke Leiman Edwards, MA, CCC-SLP, BCS-SCF<\/strong>, our Director of SAY: Speech, has been named a recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA) 2026 Media Champion Award!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

ASHA presents this award each year to media outlets, members, and others who go above and beyond to raise public awareness about communication and swallowing disorders, and about the professionals who help address them. Brooke was recognized alongside a group of contributors for their work on a new interactive exhibit about stuttering at the Planet Word Museum<\/strong> in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In announcing the awards, 2026 ASHA President Linda I. Rosa-Lugo, EdD, CCC-SLP, ASHA Fellow, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Each awardee in their own way has helped raise awareness and educate the public about communication and swallowing disorders as well as about the availability of professionals who can help address them and make significant positive differences in quality of life.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Brooke will be honored at ASHA’s Convention this November \u2014 congratulations, Brooke! We’re so proud to have you leading our speech team and helping shape how the public understands and supports people who stutter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
