The evening began with a VIP cocktail hour featuring a motivational HYPE session from SAY Founder Taro Alexander and the kids of SAY, during which George Springer gave some inspirational words about his passion for Camp SAY and the unlimited potential of young people who stutter.
The crowd of over 400 friends and SAY supporters enjoyed a few frames of bowling, delicious food and drink, and some rocking tunes from DJ Senaga. Noah Cornman, Executive Director of SAY, welcomed the crowd and encouraged their continued support of Camp SAY. Guests were then treated to moving speeches from SAY kids Brogan Walters and Isabella Negron, followed by an incredible song from Isabella.
A Silent Auction drew robust bidding throughout the benefit and included highly prized items like autographed sports memorabilia, dining, cultural and adventure experiences, products and services from some of Houston finest vendors, and special ticket packages donated by both the Astros and the Houston Rockets. There was truly something for everyone.
It was a fantastic night of bowling fun, generating over $250,000 for Camp SAY. Thank you to everyone who attended and made a donation to the 5th Annual George Springer All-Star Bowling Benefit, with special thanks to our incredible corporate sponsors, media sponsors, and the Houston Astros for their participation. This spectacular event would not have been possible without the love and commitment of George Springer, to whom we extend our continued and deepest gratitude for being such an integral part of the Camp SAY family.
The extraordinary support generated by this event will enable Camp SAY to continue providing essential programs that empower, educate and encourage kids who stutter to speak their truth, open their hearts and be themselves. Because EVERY voice matters!
