This ALL NEW, 8-week program welcomes young people who stutter, ages 8-18, to express their ideas and creativity through songwriting and spoken word poetry!
Led by Confident Voices Co-Directors, Kate Detrick & Aidan Sank, and guided by SAY’s amazing teaching artists, Musical Director, Everett Bradley, and special guest musicians & poets, participants will work together on original songs and spoken word poems that explore themes of self-empowerment, hope, stuttering, advocacy, equality, and any other topics they feel compelled to spotlight.
The Song & Spoken Word Project starts on October 6, 2022! Enrollment for Online & In-Person programming is now open with multiple weekly session times available, as detailed below:
No experience with songwriting or poetry is required. As with all of SAY’s Confident Voices programming, we will take a step-by-step and instinctive approach to our sessions, emphasizing empowerment and sharing our powerful voices.
At the end of our 8-week program, participants will have the option to present their work to a supportive, appreciative audience during The Song & Spoken Word Project Online and In-Person Final Shares, with no pressure to perform.
And as always, we will hang out, connect, and have FUN!
