Lackland H. Bloom, III is a native Texan, born in Houston, raised in Dallas, and now back in Houston, where he resides with his wife Caitlin and their two children, Leighton (15) and Lackland IV (7). Lackland has enjoyed a 30-year career as a finance professional in the energy industry, working as a banker, advisor, and investor. Lackland has always made space in his life to give back, remaining involved with his alma mater, Southern Methodist University, where he serves on the Board of the Cox School of Business. He has also stayed actively involved with several non-profits, including SAY, which he somewhat randomly discovered a little over 10 years ago, in large part due to the sharp commercial instincts of Noah Cornman.
After attending several SAY events in Houston and New York, he was struck by the persistent energy that Taro and Noah brought to the SAY mission and even more moved by the mission itself. He ultimately joined the SAY Board in 2018 and currently serves as the Board Treasurer.
The kids are inspiring. They continuously turn challenge into opportunity, while always radiating an amazing optimism and spirit of perseverance. Reflecting on the time that I have been involved with SAY, I can honestly say that I have taken away far more than I could ever give.
