Dear Parents,
If you’re considering SAY for your child or teen, know that it’s an amazing experience for all who attend.
My 16-year-old son Seth experienced minor stuttering from a young age. At the beginning of 5th grade, his stuttering became suddenly severe, and we struggled with how to support him. We were fortunate to find a skilled speech therapist, who helped him with speech tools and coping strategies. But the single greatest gift she gave Seth was SAY. She’d heard very positive things about the SAY experience and wholeheartedly recommended that he attend.
I’ll never forget that first afternoon, where we were greeted by warm, welcoming staff members, who were genuinely excited that our son was there.
At SAY, he found a community that embraced him, accepted him, and let him know that his voice mattered. Seth – and the rest of our family – have learned that patience and love go far in supporting kids who stutter.
I hope you will consider enrolling your child in SAY: DC and I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the SAY family.
