Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is a Forward for the Charlotte Hornets, a person who stutters, and a Camp SAY Ambassador. Michael knows that stuttering doesn’t have to hold anyone back from pursuing and achieving their dreams. He is a powerful role model to countless young people and is dedicated to fostering a strong community of kids and teens who stutter. He inspires young people to do and be anything they want.
Michael invites kids and teens who stutter to join us for this FREE Day Camp in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday, February 24, 2019. It’s the perfect opportunity for kids and teens (ages 8-18) to meet new friends who stutter and participate in exciting activities that help build confidence. Camp will take place in Charlotte at a central location, which will be communicated to participants upon registration. Camp will be from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The following weekend, on Sunday, March 3, campers and their parents can join us for the 1:00 PM Hornets v. Trail Blazers game. 2 FREE game tickets are available for each family of a child who attends this camp – 1 ticket for the camper and 1 for a parent/guardian (limited availability, while supplies last).
Parents are encouraged to attend camp to meet and mingle with other parents of children who stutter. You can also join an educational parent group, hosted by an expert in working with young people who stutter.
