In celebration of Bill Withers’ recent induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and 42 years after the release of his seminal ‘Live At Carnegie Hall’ LP, the legend returned as part of a special tribute concert on October 1st.
In addition to a star-studded, line-up of musicians including Ed Sheeran, Branford Marsalis, Keb’ Mo’, Amos Lee, Michael McDonald, Gregory Porter, Ledisi, Kathy Mattea, Aloe Blacc, Anthony Hamilton, Dr. John, Jonathan Butler, Kori Withers & Valerie Simpson – the kids of SAY took the stage, performing Lean On Me with McDonald.
Withers joined the entire line-up on stage – bringing the entire audience to their feet. Proceeds of the concert benefited SAY – and will provide financial aid so kids from families-in-need can attend our programs.
