Empowering Young Voices

As a speech therapist, educator, pediatrician, or other professional, we understand that it can be challenging to understand stuttering. Given the many different ways stuttering can impact a child, children who stutter often require highly personalized and tailored strategies.

SAY is here to provide you with the information, resources, and tools you need to make your interactions with a young person who stutters productive and empowering. In addition to our expert speech therapist who works exclusively with young people who stutter, we offer innovative programs that bring together groups of children who stutter and help them develop the skills they need to thrive.

Join us for Intervision

Intervision is SAY’s peer learning community for speech therapists. Speech therapists of all experience levels gather via Zoom to share cases, ask questions, and learn from one another through case presentations and breakout discussion groups. Whether you’re newer to fluency work or you’ve been treating stuttering for decades, Intervision gives you a space to think through real cases alongside colleagues who understand the nuances of this work.

Attendees receive a certificate of attendance for 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH), which can be applied toward your professional certification requirements.

More ways we support professionals

Beyond Intervision, SAY offers a range of resources to help you make every interaction with a young person who stutters more productive and empowering:

  • Clinical guidance — Our speech therapist works exclusively with young people who stutter and can serve as a resource for questions specific to your students or clients.
  • Group programs for kids — We bring together children who stutter in settings that build confidence and communication skills, complementing the individual work you do.
  • School-Based Speech Therapy Outreach — This program equips speech therapists with the resources, mentorship, and training they need to confidently support students who stutter, right in the school setting.

President, The Stuttering Foundation of America

SAY gives voice to a group of children who are too often not listened to. By validating the spirit of children who have been marginalized by society, SAY provides inspiration to us all.
