SAY: Paperback Project
This Confident Voices program culminated in a celebration of the graduates’ hard work and courage. Each participant took the stage to read an excerpt from their book aloud and share reflections on what the project had meant to them, a powerful moment of visibility for young people who stutter, speaking on their own terms and in their own time.
For five months leading up to that moment, these graduates poured their hearts and imaginations into original paperback books, which were then professionally bound and printed into keepsakes they’ll have for years to come. Each author took on the same guiding question: “What is the story only you can tell?” and answered it in a completely unique way, drawing on their own experiences, passions, and perspectives. The result is a collection that pays homage to the creativity and power of people who stutter.
