“SAY has strengthened my advocacy for my child, so I can empower him to be himself every day!”

Support Starts Here

You want your child to feel confident, understood, and free to be themselves. We’re here to help make that happen. If you’re a parent or a caregiver of a child who stutters, you might recognize some of these feelings:

  • Worrying about how your child is treated at school, or whether other kids “get it”
  • Wishing you knew other families who understand what your day-to-day is actually like
  • Wanting to help but not always knowing how, or worrying you might say the wrong thing
  • Watching your child hold back — in class, with friends, in everyday moments — and wishing they felt free to speak up
  • Searching for a place where your child doesn’t have to explain themselves or feel different
  • Hoping your child grows up knowing that stuttering is okay, and that it will never hold them back from the life they want

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you’re in the right place. For 25 years, SAY has offered comprehensive and innovative programs that address the physical, social, and emotional impacts of stuttering. Through summer camp, regional day camps, speech therapy, and creative arts programs, SAY builds a community of acceptance, friendship, and encouragement where kids and teens who stutter can develop the confidence and communication skills they need to thrive.

We’ve seen the incredible transformation that happens when young people who stutter are given the time, support, and space to speak and truly be heard — and we’ve seen what it means for parents to watch that transformation happen.

You already know how much confidence and self-esteem shape your child’s everyday world. You know how isolating it can feel when your child doesn’t know anyone else who stutters. We’re here to change that for your child, and for you.
